BX Precision Engineering is a Bathurst-based workshop offering precision laser marking, engraving, and 3D printing. We work with industry, agriculture, motorsport, medical, and anyone across Australia who needs parts made properly.
Whether you've got a finished CAD file or just an idea on the back of an envelope — we can take it from design through to a finished part.
What we do
Design, cut, print, fabricate — we cover the full process from concept to finished part.
Permanent marking and engraving on metals, plastics, and coated surfaces. Part numbers, logos, barcodes, and decorative finishes — including medical-grade marking.
Laser marking servicesAdditive manufacturing for prototypes, jigs, fixtures, end-use parts, and custom components. Functional prints in engineering-grade materials.
3D printing services Upload & get instant quoteDon't have a file? We can design it. From a sketch, a sample, or a conversation — we'll model your part in 3D and produce manufacturing-ready files.
3D design & CAD servicesHigh-accuracy 3D scanning for reverse engineering, quality inspection, and digital archiving. Scan a part and 3D print a copy — all in-house. Objects from 10 mm to 2000 mm at up to 0.02 mm accuracy.
3D scanning servicesGot an idea but not sure how to make it real? We work with you from initial concept through design, prototyping, testing, and iteration — right through to a production-ready part. Consulting, 3D design, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing all under one roof.
Prototyping servicesAbrasive water jet cutting for metals, stone, glass, composites, plastics, and more. No heat-affected zone, tight tolerances, clean edges. From thin shim stock to thick plate.
Custom part manufacturing from one-offs to short production runs. We combine our cutting, printing, and design capabilities to deliver finished parts ready to fit.

FAQ
Quick answers about our laser marking and 3D printing services.
We mark and engrave on stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, brass, copper, anodised metals, coated surfaces, and most engineering plastics. The process changes the surface without removing material, producing permanent marks that won't wear off.
Laser marking changes the surface colour or finish without removing material — ideal for part numbers, barcodes, and branding. Laser engraving physically removes material to create a deeper, tactile mark. We offer both depending on your application.
Yes. Laser marks are fused into the material surface and resist wear, chemicals, heat, and UV exposure. They outlast ink, labels, and stamping — which is why laser marking is the standard for medical devices, industrial parts, and traceability requirements.
For laser marking: vector files (AI, SVG, DXF, EPS) give the best results. High-res images (PNG, JPEG, PDF) also work. For 3D printing: STL, 3MF, STEP, or IGES. Don't have a file? We can design it for you from a sketch or description.
No. We handle everything from single one-off parts to batch production runs. Whether you need one serial plate or a thousand, we can help.
Absolutely. Send or drop off your parts and we'll mark them. We just need to confirm the material is suitable for laser processing — for unusual materials, we may ask for a sample piece to test engrave on first.
Most laser marking jobs are completed within 1–3 business days. 3D printing depends on complexity — simple parts can be done in a day, larger or more detailed prints may take 2–5 days. We'll confirm turnaround when you get a quote.
Yes. We're based in Kelso (Bathurst), NSW and ship finished parts anywhere in Australia. Local pickup is also available by appointment.
Send us your files, drawings, or even a rough sketch. We'll get back to you with what we can do and what it'll cost.
