Common questions

Quick answers about our laser marking and 3D printing services.

What materials can you laser mark or engrave?

We mark and engrave on stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, brass, copper, anodised metals, coated surfaces, and most engineering plastics. The process changes the surface without removing material, producing permanent marks that won't wear off.

What's the difference between laser marking and laser engraving?

Laser marking changes the surface colour or finish without removing material — ideal for part numbers, barcodes, and branding. Laser engraving physically removes material to create a deeper, tactile mark. We offer both depending on your application.

Is laser marking permanent?

Yes. Laser marks are fused into the material surface and resist wear, chemicals, heat, and UV exposure. They outlast ink, labels, and stamping — which is why laser marking is the standard for medical devices, industrial parts, and traceability requirements.

What file formats do you accept?

For laser marking: vector files (AI, SVG, DXF, EPS) give the best results. High-res images (PNG, JPEG, PDF) also work. For 3D printing: STL, 3MF, STEP, or IGES. Don't have a file? We can design it for you from a sketch or description.

Is there a minimum order?

No. We handle everything from single one-off parts to batch production runs. Whether you need one serial plate or a thousand, we can help.

Can I supply my own parts for marking?

Absolutely. Send or drop off your parts and we'll mark them. We just need to confirm the material is suitable for laser processing — for unusual materials, we may ask for a sample piece to test engrave on first.

How long does turnaround take?

Most laser marking jobs are completed within 1–3 business days. 3D printing depends on complexity — simple parts can be done in a day, larger or more detailed prints may take 2–5 days. We'll confirm turnaround when you get a quote.

Do you ship Australia wide?

Yes. We're based in Kelso (Bathurst), NSW and ship finished parts anywhere in Australia. Local pickup is also available by appointment.
